Football field LED lighting has their own standard, if you are looking for it recently, there are some informations that you need to know:
1. What is the official size of a football field?
According to the standard of FIFA, for international competition Football field, the length is 100~110m , the width is 64~75m , and there should be no obstacle at least 5m outside the bottom line and the side line to ensure the safety.
For World Cup finals, the length is 105m, the width is 68m.
For standard football field, the length is 90-120m, the width is 45-90m.
2.Lux Level(Brightness)
Before installing, we need to know where does the customers use it for? Is it used for competition or entertainment place?
The lux level standard is different between Television or non TV broadcast competitions, according to the FIFA’s stadium lighting guide, the class V (i.e. international televised such as World Cup) football field has the highest standard level of 2400 lux (vertical – face of football players), and 3500 lux (horizontal – the turf).
If the football field is for community , around 200 lux level is enough. The high school or college football club is around 500 lux level.
3. Beam Angle
Normally, the pole is very high and far from the sports field, so we need to choose best beam angle, now we have 16°/40°/60°/90° for option.
Higher pole with smaller beam angle is more better, since smaller beam angle lightings are more concentrated and brighter.
4. Lighting Uniformity
UEFA standard is 0.5 to 0.7 uniformity. This value is based on a 0-to-1 scale indicating the extent of uniform distribution of the lights. it is very important for stadium lights, since uneven lights will affect the player’s and audiences’ eyes. In fact, it is not any easy work to meet the high uniformity as we can imagine that the light spot is circular (or rectangular), there will be overlapping and the areas that do not have overlap.
5. Color rendering index
International football matchs with TV broadcasting will request CRI of lighting fixtures are over 90. for national competition and professional competition, Ra 80 will be enough.
Green Inova offer CRI>70 as standard, Ra 80 and Ra 90 is optional.
6. Lifespan
As we all know the LED Stadium lights are installed very high position, and the mantainence cost is very expensive, so we need to ensure the fixtures quality.
A. At least IP65 for the outdoor LED stadium lights, but Ip67 waterproof is our standard.
C. Degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment against external mechanical impacts(IK code) is preferably IK08, but IK10 is our level.
D. Extraordinary Thermal Management
Another reason for high durability is that our football fields lights have a very good heat dissipation system. In fact, if the heat always accumulates around the LED chips and driver, it will affect the lights lifespan and decrease the brightness; We are pay more attention to improving the heat sink dissipation that reduce the junction temperature of lights for long-term operation. The professional and unique pin heat sink design creates superb ventilative efficiency. Air is freely flowable among the pins in any direction, maximizing heat dissipation and lifespan of the LEDs. Also, we add top quality thermal conductive adhesive around the driver, ensure the longer lifespan of driver.
E. Anti Wind Power
Our lights are Anti 17-level Wind Power, fixture’s Low profile and pin structure effectively reduce wind load, plus light weight and high mechanics strength, the fixture has strong ability of anti-wind.
F. Warranty
Normally, 5 years warranty is better for outdoor LED stadium lights, most suppliers can meet this level.
